Change to VIC Payroll Date
Due to the New Year’s Day Public Holiday falling on Monday 2nd January 2023, the VIC pay day for that week will be one day later than usual.
Pay Day is Thursday 05/01/2023 – most staff will see their pay deposited on Wednesday night rather than Tuesday night.
Rosters over Christmas New Year period
VIC Rosters
- Pay Period Ending – 18/12/2022 – Pay Date Thursday 22/12/2022 – NO CHANGE
- Pay Period Ending - 01/01/2023 – Pay Date Thursday 05/01/2023 – CHANGE - Rosters to be finalised and approved by 10am Tuesday 03/01/2023
NSW Rosters
- Pay Period Ending - 18/12/2022 PC1 – Pay Date Thursday 22/12/2022 – NO CHANGE
- Pay Period Ending – 25/12/2022 PC2 – CHANGE – Rosters must be finalised and approved early by 10am Friday 23/12/2022 – no change to pay date Thursday 29/12/2022
- Pay Period Ending – 01/01/2023 PC1 – CHANGE – Rosters must be finalised and approved early by 10am Thursday 29/12/2022 – no change to pay date Thursday 06/01/2023
- Note – adjustments to rosters following deadlines will need to be entered by the roster manager into HealthRoster so retro payments can be made to staff.
Public Holidays
The upcoming public holidays are as follows:
- Christmas Day Sunday 25 December 2022
- Boxing Day Monday 26 December 2022
- ADDITIONAL Christmas Day Tuesday 27 December 2022
- New Years’ Day Sunday 1 January 2023
- ADDITIONAL New Years’ Day Monday 2 January 2023

Payment of PH’s - VIC Employees Only
Christmas Day and New Years’ Day fall on a weekend and an ADDITIONAL day has been declared for each public holiday.
Enterprise Agreements vary, but most take one of the following two approaches:
- A weekend worker employee receives the public holiday benefit for the day they work, being the actual day or the additional day but not both. (Weekend worker model). Penalties are payable for weekend workers for either day but not both days. In the case of other staff, the additional day is the public holiday.
or
- substitute the actual day public holiday with additional day public holiday (Substitute model).
Please note, that there are additional requirements for the Substitute Model which will be sent out to VIC roster managers via email.
