Volunteers dig in to give Oasis Garden a second life

Before construction begins on the Northeast Building, a group of green-thumbed volunteers have stepped in to help give a second life to our beautiful succulents from the Oasis Garden.
With the garden located in an area set for construction, a crew of volunteers led by gardener Wayne rolled up their sleeves on Wednesday for a working bee to salvage the plants and rehome them.
In total, dozens of succulents and other hardy plants were carefully dug out, transported and replanted in a small garden along the main corridor of the Albury Campus – an area that until now had little greenery.
“We’re so happy that we’ve been able to rehome these beautiful plants,” said Foundation Manager Anthea Maher. “It was a big team effort by the staff and volunteers. Now, they’ll be enjoyed by even more staff, patients and visitors, every day.”
A huge thank you to all the volunteers and staff for rolling up their sleeves to help! The day was powered by good weather, good energy, and lots of smiles and laughter.
