More than 3,000 people laced up their shoes in 2026 to take part in the SS&A City2City RunWalk, coming together to raise an incredible $154,292 for Allied Health at Albury Wodonga Health.
That funding is now making a real difference in the community - and the results are already visible across Allied Health services.
New Equipment, New Possibilities
City2City funding has delivered new equipment and resources across a wide range of Allied Health areas, including:
- Rehabilitation and exercise equipment: A bariatric treadmill, exercise and recumbent bikes, therapy equipment, ward steps and specialised gym equipment are now helping patients through every stage of rehabilitation and recovery.
- Paediatric and sensory resources: A paediatric therapy bench, sensory equipment and toys, weighted and sensory-modulation tools, and digital resources are supporting children and other patients with diverse needs.
- Speech, cognitive and communication supports: iPads, specialist therapy apps and assessment tools are helping patients build communication, reasoning and executive functioning skills.
- Specialist clinical equipment: A continence ultrasound, a LymphaTouch negative-pressure therapy device, Saebo rehabilitation equipment, blood pressure machines and other resources are strengthening assessment and treatment across services.
- Improved therapeutic spaces: New equipment for the Cancer Centre exercise space, counselling couches, and other resources are supporting Allied Health teams throughout the health service.
Beyond the Equipment: Investing in People
The impact of City2City reaches further than new machines and tools. Funds raised through the event also established the Lucie Shannahan Scholarship, which has now been awarded to an Allied Health professional to support further education and professional development.
It's an investment that pays off twice - strengthening the care patients receive today, while building the skills and expertise of the health service's workforce for the future.
