Albury Wodonga Health (AWH) is advising the community of important parking and hospital access changes at Albury Hospital as a result of construction works on our new Emergency Department.

Sections of the hospital's upper carpark will close from 7pm on Sunday 14 August including the entrance to the hospital's Day Procedure Unit. Patients, carers and visitors will need to use the hospital's main entrance to access the Day Procedure Unit.

Construction will also result in the loss of 20 staff parking bays that will be relocated to the lower carpark.

AWH's Executive Director of Capital Development Susan Medlin said builders had taken possession of the site and were now ready to begin the main construction.

"This next stage of construction is a major milestone in the overall project," she said. "It's an exciting time as the plans for our new ED become a reality.

"Of course, projects of this size and scope don't come without some level of disruption, but we've made sure there are necessary solutions in place so that everyone can continue to access the hospital safely," she said. "Our hospital concierge and wonderful volunteers will be ready to greet our patients at the main entrance and help direct them to the Day Procedure Unit for their appointment."

Construction of a new staff carpark on Borella Road is already underway and is expected to be operational by October this year, adding more than 100 additional carparks to the hospital's parking supply.
