Albury Wodonga has the same number of sunny days as the Gold Coast, but without the humidity. Warm, dry summers, mild autumn and spring months with cool winters. Temperature range from 15° to 40°C in summer and 3.5° to 14°C in winter. The average annual rainfall is 585mm.

The median age in Albury - Wodonga (Significant Urban Areas) was 38 years. Children aged 0 - 14 years made up 19.2 per cent of the population and people aged 65 years and over made up 18.9 per cent of the population. Employment statistics at the time of the last census; for the region were 48,391 people who reported being in the labour force. Of these 56.9 per cent were employed full time, 32.8 per cent were employed part-time and 4.6 per cent per cent were unemployed.

Albury Wodonga cities are recognised as Australia’s 20th largest city, and provides a diverse range of employment opportunities, shopping, education, and health services, recreation, entertainment, and cultural activities for the region’s residents. Albury was voted the best town in Australia in 2023 by leading travel site Wotif (The Wotif Aussie Town of the Year winner and finalists for 2023).

There are many things to do in Albury Wodonga, from enjoying a swim at Lake Hume or in the Murray River, trekking through the Wagirra Trail, visiting the MAMA Museum, or enjoying the diverse culinary.
