Infection Prevention Update
Monday, 6 February 2023 / Albury Wodonga Health
Albury Wodonga Health will move to Infection Control Level 1 from Monday the 6th February 2023. This is in response to declining admissions for Covid-19 across the health service despite continuing community transmission.
It is an ongoing challenge to protect our vulnerable patients in our care and to ensure the safety of our healthcare workers from transmission of respiratory infections. To achieve this, we have a continued requirement to wear N95 masks in clinical areas, to not enter a healthcare facility with respiratory symptoms, and to isolate patients as soon as possible if positive for Covid-19.
There has been no update to the Victorian Department of Health guidance for sensitive settings. This guidance is continually monitored so that changes to PPE requirements can be implemented without delay.
An updated Infection Control Respiratory Response Matrix is available at the following Link. An Infection Control Level 0 has been added, to ensure we can respond immediately to future de-escalation of controls.
