AWH Clinical Education and the Royal Children’s Hospital provide GRIPS education.
The clinical education unit welcomed the RCH specialist simulation/education team in December to provide “Group Response to Illness in Paediatrics” - GRIPS education. The study day concentrated on the recognition and management of the deteriorating patient with training around human factors to improve teamwork and clinical decision making.
Nursing and medical staff attended the highly evaluated full day course - all participants reporting the learning as relevant and valuable!
We look forward to hosting the RCH team again later in 2023 when they facilitate another GRIPS study day and simulation based education – train the trainer program.
Keep your eyes out for the program expression of interest – any questions can be directed to Emma Horsfield emma.horsfield@awh.org.au or Lauren Crossley lauren.crossley@awh.org.au
Many thanks to Lauren and Danielle Hanlon for their assistance in bringing this important education to AWH.
