Albury Wodonga Health has activated a Code Brown (External Emergency) in response to ongoing bushfire activity in the Walwa and Towong Shire areas, compounded by extreme heat conditions across the region.

Albury Wodonga Health is working closely with emergency services, including fire, police and ambulance agencies, as conditions continue to evolve.

Community members are urged to follow the advice of emergency services, on the VicEmergcy App, including Watch & Act and Leave Now warnings.

Albury Wodonga Health reminds the community that personal safety is the priority. Anyone in immediate danger should call 000.

Stay cool by wearing light, loose clothing, drinking plenty of water and closing windows and blinds early to limit heat entering your home. For more info and resources: www.betterhealth.vic.gov.au/extreme-heat
