Albury Wodonga Health (AWH) is proud to launch Your Say AWH, a new online engagement platform that makes it easier than ever for people to share feedback, stay informed, and get involved in improving the experience of care across our region.

The platform reflects AWH’s commitment to listening, learning, and partnering with its community to deliver care that meets local needs. It creates a simple and accessible way for people to share their experiences, contribute to projects, and actively contribute to shaping the care and services that matter to them.

AWH Chief Executive Officer Bill Appleby said understanding and acting on consumer and community feedback is central to improving care across the health service.

“Understanding the patient experience allows us to continually strengthen the care we provide”, Mr Appleby said. “By engaging more directly with our community, we can focus on making meaningful improvements that make a real difference.

“This platform enables us to deliver a better experience for patients, share learnings across the organisation, and empower our teams to make improvements that have meaningful impact.”

Modernising patient feedback

A key feature of Your Say AWH is a new digital Patient Experience Survey, based on the nationally endorsed Australian Hospital Patient Experience Question Set (AHPEQS).

This digital survey modernises how AWH gathers patient insights, complementing existing channels such as feedback forms, emails, phone calls, and the Victorian Healthcare Experience Survey (VHES). The move to a digital format allows patients and families to quickly and easily share their experiences in real time, by scanning a QR code on posters throughout AWH sites.

AWH Consumer Experience Manager, Brooke Ford, said the new approach will improve the way AWH listens to its patients and acts on their experiences.

“Consumers have told us that they want to share their experiences in a quick and accessible way,” she said. “By moving to a digital format, we’re not only making it easier for patients to share their stories, but we’re also gaining more meaningful insights into what matters most to them, so we can continue to improve the experience of care.

“This gives us more actionable, meaningful insights into what patients really want from us to improve their experience while they’re with us, across all areas of the health service.”

A central hub for community engagement

Beyond patient feedback, Your Say AWH provides a central, user-friendly space where community members can learn about upcoming projects and initiatives, complete surveys, share ideas, and have their questions answered.

By registering, consumers, visitors and staff, can received alerts on topics and projects of interest to them, making it easy to stay informed and contribute to initiatives that shape local health care. The platform has been launched with a wide range of active projects for consumers to have their say.

AWH Director of Communications Sadie Tilleray said the new online platform will become AWH’s one-stop hub for all community engagement, making it easier for people to connect with AWH and get involved.

“Your Say AWH brings all our engagement opportunities together in one place,” she said. “Whether it’s asking questions, completing a survey or sharing feedback, our community can now engage with us in a simple, accessible and inclusive way.”

Ask an AWH Expert

To celebrate the launch, AWH is inviting the community to take part in Ask an AWH Expert — an opportunity to submit health questions to AWH’s clinicians, nurses, allied health and mental health professionals.

From “How much water should I really drink each day?” to “Should I sweat out a fever?”, selected questions will be answered in short, engaging content shared on the Your Say platform and AWH social media channels.

Mr Appleby added, “I encourage all community members, patients, families, and partner organisations to visit the new platform, register, and get involved.”
