Albury Wodonga Health (AWH) celebrated the achievements of its 2025 Graduate Registered Nurse, Enrolled Nurse, Mental Health Nurse, and Midwifery cohort at a ceremony held on Tuesday recognising graduates for completing their graduate year in the profession with compassion, resilience and dedication.

The cohort included 58 Registered Nurse graduates, 3 Enrolled Nurse graduates, 7 Graduate Midwives, 10 Mental Health graduates, 4 Postgraduate Diploma of Midwifery graduates, drawn from the AWH Graduate Nurse Program, AWH Mental Health Graduate Program, AWH Graduate Midwifery Program, and AWH Postgraduate Diploma of Midwifery.

Special recognition was given to Registered Nurse Graduate Jade Knox and Mental Health Graduate Fionna Wright, who were named Graduates of the Year.

Jade commenced her nursing career as an Enrolled Nurse at AWH before progressing through the Registered Nurse Graduate Program, where she consistently demonstrated compassion and professionalism across every rotation.

Fionna started with AWH as a Registered Nurse in the two-year Mental Health Graduate Program and was recognised for her caring and person-centred approach within the Mental Health and Wellbeing Service.

AWH has seen significant growth in its graduate workforce, and approximately 86 per cent of this year's graduates have secured ongoing employment with the health service, reflecting the organisation's commitment to nurturing and retaining local nursing and midwifery talent.

"Watching our graduates grow throughout the year – building their skills, their confidence and their connection to patients and colleagues – is one of the most rewarding parts of what we do," said Kim White, AWH’s Chief Nursing & Midwifery Officer

"This year's cohort has shown incredible dedication across nursing, mental health nursing and midwifery, and it's fantastic to see so many choosing to continue their careers with us. That retention speaks to the strength of the support and mentorship our teams provide."
