Albury Hospital Parking Plan
Wednesday, 3 June 2026 / Albury Wodonga Health
Over the past few months, it has been harder to find a car park at Albury Hospital. We want to apologise for the challenges many of you are experiencing - not only finding a car park, but then navigating your way to an entrance, often over uneven ground. We know this has been made worse in recent weeks by wet weather.
While there have been broad statements about increases in overall parking capacity, we know our patients, staff and community are looking for a clearer, more detailed picture of how parking is changing across the life of the project.
This graph shows that impact clearly. It shows how parking availability changed during the early stages of construction - and how it will continue to change as the redevelopment progresses.
Before construction on the redevelopment began, there were 659 parking spaces available at Albury hospital.
As works progressed, some parking needed to be removed to make way for major construction works - including the Northeast Building and other infrastructure. This created a period where demand outpaced supply, while replacement and new parking areas were being developed.
The lowest point was between March and May 2026, when parking dropped to fewer than 600 available spaces.
We are now moving beyond that point.
From this point in time, parking availability is increasing. With new verge parking now opening on Borella Road, the total number of spaces is growing again and will continue to do so.
While numbers will continue to shift as construction moves across the site, they are not expected to drop below the previous baseline of 659 spaces.
By the end of the project, more than 300 additional car parks will be delivered - taking total capacity to around 1,000 spaces at Albury Hospital.
The numbers and timeframes shown here are based on current construction staging and are subject to final delivery and implementation.
We’re sharing this data so that our community knows what to expect next.
We also recognise the impact on surrounding streets and our neighbours during this time, and we appreciate their patience. We’re continuing to work closely with project partners and traffic management teams to manage overflow and support safe, respectful use of nearby areas.
