Albury Wodonga Health advises that Board Chair Jon Green will conclude his term on 30 June 2026 and has informed the Victorian Department of Health that he will not seek reappointment for a further term.

Mr. Green said the decision was a personal one, made as he looks to focus more on his legal business and his family following the completion of his term.

“It has been a privilege to serve as Chair of Albury Wodonga Health,” Mr. Green said.

“It has been a privilege to support AWH and to work alongside people who care so deeply about this service and the community it serves. I’m proud of what has been achieved during my time as Chair, and I leave with great respect for the staff, leadership and Board. I also want to thank the CEOs and Acting CEOs I have worked with during my term, as well as my fellow Board members. Each has made an important contribution to AWH, and I have been fortunate to work with them.”

Since commencing as Chair on 1 July 2023, Mr. Green has led the Board through a substantial period of change and delivery for the organisation. His term has included the transition of the Albury Wodonga Regional Cancer Centre to public operation, the opening of the new Albury Emergency Department, the announcement of the renal expansion at Wodonga campus, significant progress on the Albury single-site hospital redevelopment, a substantial strengthening of clinical governance and quality systems, and a significant financial turnaround. Mr. Green also led AWH’s response to the Health Services Plan and served as Deputy Chair of the Hume Local Health Services Network.

AWH Interim Chief Executive Professor Andrew Way thanked Mr. Green for his contribution and leadership.

“Jon has made an important contribution to Albury Wodonga Health over the past three years,” Professor Way said.

“Jon has provided steady leadership as Board Chair, with a consistent focus on governance, support for our people, and the long-term interests of the community AWH serves.”

“We thank Jon for his commitment to AWH and acknowledge the work he has done to help guide the organisation through a period of significant change.”

AWH remains focused on providing safe, high-quality care for the community and supporting staff through the transition.
