Albury Wodonga Health's new Patient Administration System, i.PM, will go live on Thursday 7 November 2024.

Please note that the Mental Health Southern Hub services (Wangaratta and Beechworth sites), Benambra CCU and Jarrah PARC will swap dates to go live on 30 October. The rest of our sites will still go live as previously scheduled on 7 November.

iPM is the new Patient Administration System solution being implemented across AWH. It will replace our existing systems, Vital and NSW iPM (excluding some community health services).

i.PM is part of the Hume PAS Connect project, being delivered by Hume Rural Health Alliance (HRHA), and involving 14 health services across our region.

i.PM will enable better integrated care across our health services, improving patient safety and the flow of clinical information and supporting connection to state and national digital health infrastructure and initiatives.

Key benefits of the i.PM include:

  • A region wide patient identifier, enabling accurate and efficient connection of patients to medical and support services

  • Capturing data to enable accurate reporting to the Victorian Government, ultimately ensuring that AWH is funded for the activity it delivers, and that system-wide service demand and supply can be measured.

  • Replacement of end-of-life PAS software, providing surety that our patient data remains accessible, safe and secure into the future.

For AWH the introduction of i.PM replaces 3 separate PAS systems that AWH alone use to manage our inpatients. This means the complex workarounds currently in place to reduce the associated clinical risk will no longer be required. In addition, we will experience an improvement in the information flow to support patient care.

Reporting changes with Hume PAS Connect

As we transition to our new PAS, you may notice some differences in reports compared to what you’re accustomed to. This is a normal part of implementing a new system, and we appreciate your understanding as we work through these changes.

We anticipate that there may be occasional data issues or discrepancies during this transition period. If you encounter any anomalies or have concerns about the accuracy of reports, please escalate these issues to the Business Intelligence & Performance (biperformance@awh.org.au) team immediately. Our team is dedicated to resolving any problems as swiftly as possible to ensure accuracy of data for your operational areas.

Your feedback is invaluable during this time, and we encourage you to reach out with any questions or concerns. Thank you for your patience and collaboration as we move forward with this important upgrade.
