SUBJECT: Albury Hospital Campus Medical Ward 2 is Safe to Occupy

Albury Wodonga Health reassures staff, patients, and the community that Albury Hospital Campus Medical Ward 2 is safe to occupy.

Shaun Strachan, Chief of Infrastructure Albury Wodonga Health said, “Albury Wodonga Health is aware of minor structural movement to our Medical Ward 2 building."

“Since 2016, we have worked closely with civil engineering consultancy firm Belvoir Consulting to identify, manage and mitigate any structural issues that pose a potential risk to staff or patients.”

David Sharp, Director of Belvoir Consulting said, “Our latest assessment in July 2023 found no escalation of structural issues or safety concerns and we advised Albury Wodonga Health that the building is safe to be used.”

Mr Strachan said the next structural assessment of the Albury Hospital Campus Medical Ward 2 building is scheduled for December 2023.

“We will provide updates to staff as we continue to monitor the structural integrity and continued safety of Medical Ward 2.”
