People Matter Survey
Thursday, 8 May 2025 / Albury Wodonga Health
At Albury Wodonga Health, we know our people care deeply about fostering a positive and supportive workplace culture. The results of the 2024 People Matter Survey, with 39 per cent participation, show that our staff are motivated to contribute to lasting change.
Albury Wodonga Health CEO Bill Appleby said the AWH Board and leadership teams are actively listening and taking action.
'Together, we are committed to responding to these insights and working in partnership with our staff to implement meaningful, long-term improvements,' he said.
'Whilst AWH acknowledges the challenges identified in the survey, there were a number of positive steps forward, including improved results in work-life balance, a reduction in stress levels, and an overwhelming commitment from our people, with over 91% of staff expressing their intention to remain with us. They are choosing to be here, and have told us that a healthier, more inclusive workplace that supports staff to thrive, is an environment they want to be a part of.
'We extend our appreciation to all staff at Albury Wodonga Health for their invaluable participation, their honesty, and their ongoing commitment to improving culture at AWH.
'Culture change takes time, courage and consistency. The biggest mistake we can make is expecting overnight success. This will be a sustained, organisation-wide effort from all our people, grounded in our commitment to foster a unified culture of safety, inclusion and learning.
'At AWH, we aspire to be kind, compassionate and supportive of each other. We are accountable and transparent. We listen, collaborate and act with respect. We are optimistic and visionary - and we know that lasting cultural change involves each and every one of us.
'Together, as one team, we will build the culture we are proud of both now and for the future, Mr Appleby said.
