Albury Wodonga Health's Osteoarthritis Hip and Knee Service (OAHKS) is accepting referrals from GPs and primary care practitioners.  Patients with hip and, or knee osteoarthritis are encouraged to make use of this new service.

Our OAHKS clinic offers assessment and triage by advanced musculoskeletal physiotherapists for patients referred to the service.

Focusing on a client’s individual needs, our aim is to empower people to self-manage their Osteoarthritis through a coordinated management plan in partnership with their GP.

AHW supports contemporary clinical guidelines and recommends all patients with hip and knee Osteoarthritis receive appropriate non-surgical management before surgery is considered.

While dedicated to health promotion and chronic disease prevention we also assist in detecting deterioration of hip and knee Osteoarthritis to ensure timely access to surgery if required.

Benefits of the OAHKS

  • Early and comprehensive assessment
  • Multidisciplinary team engagement
  • Person-centred care
  • Improved access to conservative management
  • Monitoring, review and reporting
  • Equitable and appropriate prioritisation for surgery
