AWH is a teaching hospital associated with the UNSW rural medical school, providing ample opportunity for teaching and training. Weekly journal clubs, medical grand rounds and point of care U/S teaching enable unique opportunity for learning and skill development.

General Medicine Advanced Training include:

- 18 months core General Medicine Advanced Training accredited currently

- awaiting college site visit for 2 years of core training

- a unique regional General Medicine Advanced Training network with Griffith hospital enables an additional 6-12 months of core training.

- This networked position can be applied for through the AWH Presto site or via the NSW match (HETI).

Griffith 6 monthly rotations include:

- General Medicine

- St Vincent's Hospital (Sydney) lung transplant unit - pending IRTP funding

- Obstetric Medicine

- Resettled Refugee Medicine

- Indigenous Renal and Obstetric Medicine
