Mental Health Graduate Allied Health Program

The Mental Health Allied Health Program is for Allied Health Graduates (those who have studied Social Work or Occupational Therapy). The program is designed to give newly graduated professionals the hands on, in depth learning and experience required to become well rounded and experienced professionals. 

We are currently recruiting for graduates, with program commencement dates from July 2024 through to February 2025, depending on where you are at with your study. It provides flexibility, exposure to a broad range of rotations and departments, provides continuous learning and education opportunities to grow your career, and there are opportunities for ongoing employment once you complete the two year program. 

Rotations may include time in the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS), the Older Persons Mental Health Service (OPMHS), the Acute Inpatient Units, Community Adult Mental Health Services, and sub-acute and rehabilitation programs across our sites located in Albury, Wodonga, Beechworth, and Wangaratta.

Rotations are designed to give you exposure and learning opportunities across the Mental Health functions at Albury Wodonga Health, and will help to embed your learning and grow your experience as a professional. 

The Mental Health Graduation Allied Health Program runs for two years. There are opportunities for ongoing employment with Albury Wodonga Health upon successful completion of the program.

AWH has access to the Regional Mental Health Workforce Incentive program. The Incentive program is designed by the Department of Health to support the attraction, relocation, and retention of mental health and alcohol and other drug (AOD) workers to Area Mental Health and Wellbeing Services across rural and regional Victoria.
