The Concierge Volunteer welcomes patients and visitors to the hospital. Stationed at the main entrances of Albury or Wodonga Hospital and the AWRCC. Volunteers greet people as they arrive, direct or walk with them to various services and provide information about AWH.
Community Palliative Care
The Palliative Care Volunteers provide support for patients and families living with a life limiting illness. Volunteers undergo a comprehensive training program, which equips them to provide companionship, emotional support, transport and at home respite. (Wodonga only)
The opportunity Shops are located in High St, Wodonga and Swift St, Albury. The profits are donated to AWH. The volunteers in the opportunity shops sort and display stock and assist customers with purchases.
The Meal Mates Program provides assistance at meal times (lunch 12.00 to 1.30) for people who may need set up assistance and support during the meal time.
Provides a service whereby patients can purchase mainstream reading materials from their hospital bed.
PATSI - The Patient Activity Trolley Support Initiative
PATSI provides personal care items, such as soaps/toothbrushes, kids puzzle packs, puzzle books, colouring books and novels etc. available to patients free of charge.
Patient Experience Surveying
Patient surveying takes approx. 2 hours and is completed on an IPad supplied by AWH, this survey is a way of taking the "pulse" in the hospital and takes approx. 10mins for each person to complete. Positions are available in the Wodonga and Albury Hospital.
The Pet Therapy Program provides general animal assisted activities. It involves animals and handlers (your own animal is required) visiting patients and their families at the bedside or in common areas of the hospital. All animals are vet checked.
The Pink Ladies supplement the activities of the hospital staff in delivering the best possible care to patients. The general duties are assisting with flower arranging in all wards.
This program provides social, emotional and spiritual support to patients and their family while in hospital. The Pastoral Care Volunteers’ receive comprehensive training for the role.

The Shuttle Service provides a transport service between Albury and Wodonga locations for AWH. Volunteers drive an IMAX 9 seater vehicle. Good driving record required.
The Wellness Centre is located in the Albury Wodonga Regional Cancer Hospital in Albury. Volunteers help by making tea/coffee and provide information about the wellness programs and facilitate Cancer Support Groups.
