The Dental Clinic provides basic emergency, general and denture services.
The Dental Clinic also hosts a training program for students from LaTrobe University, Bendigo.
Where there is insufficient capacity at our dental clinic, people may be referred to a private dentist or prosthetist.
Specialist dental care is provided at the Royal Dental Hospital of Melbourne.
Who is eligible to see the Albury Wodonga Health - Wodonga Campus (AWHWC) Dental Clinic?
Concession card holders and their dependants.
All children up to year 8 at school and from year 9 upwards, who's parents have a Pensioner Concession Card or Health Care Card.
AWHWC Dental Clinic
The charge will depend on the type and amount of treatment you need, with a minimum of $24 for a course of care:
- Emergency visit - $24
- General Care - for a full course of treatment (checkup, fillings, clean). The cost will be a minimum or $24, up to a maximum of $96.
- Dentures - the charge is dependent on the type of denture with the maximum charge for a full upper and lower acrylic denture of $105.
- Specialist Care - the charge will depend on the treatment you receive. This will be discussed with you prior to commencing treatment.
- Exemptions for charges may be available for people with special needs. This should be discussed with the dental clinic prior to care commencing.
- Other fee exemptions include clients treated by dental students, Refugee & Asylum Seekers, Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islanders, homeless people & people at risk of homelessness. Children & young people aged 0-17 years who are health care or pensioner concession card holders or dependants of concession card holders.
Emergency Care
If you are in pain you should contact your local community dental clinic. You will be triaged, assessed and prioritised for treatment accordingly.
Location
The AWHWC Dental Clinic is located in 155 High Street, Wodonga, and occupies the basement of the Gateway Community Centre building.
The clinic is open Monday to Friday, from 8.30 am to 5 pm, except public holidays.
