Learn how to successfully breast feed and settle your baby
The Parents and Babies Support Unit provides more intensive support for families than is able to be managed in the Early Childhood / Maternal & Child Health Centres and IS FREE OF CHARGE.
The Unit is open to parents with babies up to 12 months of age.
Access may be by self referral, doctor or health professional.
Services provided by qualified staff include:
- Lactation issues
e.g. positioning & attachment,
breast refusal
supply
- Parentcraft issues
e.g. settling techniques
sleep problems
advice on formula feeding
weaning advice
sibling rivalry
- Telephone and face to face counselling available specialising in the area of adjustment to changing lifestyle, ante and post-natal depression which affects many families in the community.
- Co-ordination of support groups for ante-post natally depressed clients in Albury - Lavington - Wodonga - Corowa & Berrigan.
Facilities available:
- Ensuite bedrooms in separate wing where parents may rest/sleep
- Car park
- Cots and prams
- Public telephone
- Video room for education in parenting and depression
- Microwave, fridges, tea/ coffee making
- Electic breast pump
What to bring:
- Lunch / refreshments
- Nappies - change of baby clothes
- Bottles - teats - formula, as necessary
