Community Occupational Therapy

Community Occupational Therapy

Our Occupational Therapist is able to visit older adults in their homes, to provide assessment, advice and assistance for them to improve their safety and independence.

This often involves advice on the types of home modifications eg ramps, and equipment that a person may need.

This valuable service can help people remain in their homes as long as possible.

The service can also assist those who wish to have greater mobility and access to community activities to do so. An example of this is assessment for and training in the use of a scooter.

The Occupational Therapist liaises with other agencies to facilitate access and participation in activities, and access to aids and equipment where appropriate.
