The Rural Allied Health Team (RAHT) provides a range of home and clinic based professional services. We assist people to stay at home independently, including the frail aged and younger people with disabilities, and their carers.
We support and work with clients, carers and community service providers. Services are designed to meet individual needs. We generally will see you in your own home.
Eligibility: Clients eligible for Home and Community Care services are:
- frail aged or
- those with a permanent disability of any age.
You must also reside in Victoria and not be in supported accommodation. If you receive other HACC services such as Meals on Wheels or Home Care, you will be eligible for RAHT.
Referrals to the Team are welcome from any source.

Is there a cost?
A small charge may apply (base rate $8). You will still receive a service if you are eligible but unable to pay.
A Physiotherapist will help you gain as much mobility and physical independence as possible to maximise your quality of life. Physiotherapists help relieve pain, restore function and movement and prevent further problems through education and treatment. Often, a home exercise program is prescribed.
An Occupational Therapist will work with you to maximise your safety and independence during your usual daily activities. This may involve assessment for home modifications.
A Speech Pathologist can assist you if you experience communication and/or swallowing difficulties.
Our Podiatrist can provide assessment and treatment of foot problems. This includes advice regarding diabetic foot care and footwear information.
Our Continence Nurse Advisor will provide advice to help you manage bladder and/or bowel problems.
A Dietitian can provide advice on appropriate food choices to meet your needs. This may include help with problems such as poor appetite and unwanted weight loss.
Areas covered by this Service
We go anywhere in the shires of Wodonga, Towong and Indigo, and the Kiewa Valley. Podiatry is offered at several clinics in the area. The other Allied Health services can see you in your home, at a time that is convenient for you.
Would you prefer to use a language other than English? That's fine. We can organise an interpreter service at no cost to you.
