Nutrition

Dietitians believe that quality food is essential to a healthy lifestyle. Many common medical conditions are managed best when appropriate dietary measures are in place.

We can assist in the dietary management of health condition.

such as:

  • High cholesterol
  • Diabetes
  • Weight issues
  • Food allergies and intolerances
  • Malnutrition
  • Gastrointestinal disorders
  • Home tube feeding

Medical referral is preferred in these cases. We offer both one-to-one interviews and small group settings.

Older people, and those with disabilities may be eligible for home-based nutrition services through the Rural Allied Health Team.

If you are an inpatient at Albury Wodonga Health - Wodonga Campus and would like to see a Dietitian, just ask your nurse or doctor to arrange a referral.

Dietitians support health promotion initiatives in the hospital and local area such as:

  • Regular Supermarket Tours
  • Diabetes self management group
  • New Parents Group
  • Smiles for Miles
  • Healthy environments in schools and child care centres

Fees are charged for individual consultations as per state-wide fees policy for Community Health services, targeting low income earners.  Base rate is $8. Outpatient services are available to Victorian residents only, and generally operate between 8:30am and 5:00pm, Monday to Friday.
