Continence Services

Over one million Australians have difficulty controlling bladder or bowel at some time in their lives, but there is always something that can be done to make things more manageable.

Professional help is available from our Continence Nurse Advisors and Physiotherapist.

The service consists of a hospital based clinic and a community based service:

  • Located in the Community Rehabilitation Centre, Vermont St. Wodonga, the hospital clinic provides a service to people of all ages.
  • The Community based (HACC funded) service is a regional service covering the Wodonga, Indigo and Towong shires and the Kiewa Valley.  It provides home visits to those who are frail, aged and/or disabled.

WHAT SERVICES DO WE PROVIDE?

  • Management and advice for problems with bladder and bowel control
  • Pelvic floor rehabilitation for pre and post natal complications
  • Pelvic floor education for those undergoing gynaecological and urological procedures
  • Bladder training
  • Bowel programs
  • Catheter management including intermittent self catheterisation
  • Product information and advice on appropriate continence aids and appliances and access to funding schemes
  • Education and consultation to community groups, carers and service providers

No referral is necessary - contact can be made directly to the clinic, or through GP's or Health Workers.

All consultations are totally confidential. Cost: $12.00 or $8.00 for concession card holders.
