Wodonga Regional Health Service is seeking Medical Officers with at least five years post-graduate experience, including two years in ED, to take on this exciting and challenging role. Our Department has FACEM management and a well staffed junior medical workforce. We are now looking to recruit to positions that will make up the leadership team.
The Health Service is a 133 bed ACHS Accredited Victorian public hospital with a budget of $60m and 650 staff, servicing a regional catchment of over 200,000 people in North-East Victoria and Southern New South Wales. The Emergency Department treats over 30,000 people per year with 30% being in the 0-14 age group.
The Albury-Wodonga region provides attractive lifestyle opportunities with its location on the Murray River and proximity to the Victorian snowfields and wine regions. With a local population of 100,000, Albury-Wodonga provides all the advantages and infrastructure of a large provincial city combined with a rural lifestyle.
The role involves provision of care to patients presenting to the ED and supervision of junior staff in the Department. The person we are seeking will demonstrate:
· Well developed clinical management skills
· The ability to prioritise and organise workload
