(DNS-PC)

Wodonga is a rapidly growing rural city situated in scenic and historic N.E. Victoria.  It forms part of the Albury/Wodonga Growth Centre which collectively offers a comprehensive range of medical, educational recreational and cultural facilities, including 2 university campuses and ready access to the snow fields, Lake Hume and the wine growing area of Rutherglen and District.  Excellent road, rail and air transport allows easy access to both Melbourne and Sydney.

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Registered Nurse Division 1 who is capable of managing two diverse and enthusiastic teams in our ACHS Accredited facility. The Nurse Manager appointed will manage the WRHS District Nursing Service and the WRHS Community Palliative Care Team, these programs operate from different funding streams and will require dynamic leadership at the interface of Acute, Subacute and Community care.

Selection Criteria:

  • Demonstrated proficiency in managing the complex demands of a community service including an understanding of and ability to develop and manage the funding, budgets and reporting requirements.
  • Demonstrated community nursing expertise.
  • Ability to provide nursing leadership that utilises evidence based practice in staff and program management and in patient care.
  • Ability to communicate the organisational perspective into the community and to enhance the organisations understanding of the wider community services.
  • Ability to provide coordination of the services and to promote decision making within a cooperative and collaborative environment.
  • Demonstrated commitment to professional development.
  • Effective communication and people skills that achieve positive outcomes.
  • Ability to develop and implement initiatives to ensure optimum standards of care through: 
  • Accreditation and Quality Improvement processes
  • Staff Development
  • Research
  • Monitoring of program and resource performance
  • Demonstrated sound knowledge of contemporary Human Resource Management issues at both the broad and specific level, with particular reference to workplace health and safety, equal employment opportunity and anti-discrimination.
  • Sound information management and computer program skills.
