Senior Occupational Therapist

64hrs/fortnight to Full-time (negotiable)

Albury Wodonga Health seeks to employ an appropriately skilled and experienced Occupational Therapist (OT) to manage and lead occupational therapy services at our Wodonga site. This position provides an exciting opportunity to be part of the development of Australia's first cross-border health service following the amalgamation of Wodonga Regional Health Service and Albury Base Hospital on 1 July 2009.

The Wodonga OT department currently consists 6.6fte, supported by a part time Allied Health Assistant. All OT's work within multi/ interdisciplinary teams to deliver services across a range of areas including acute, inpatient rehabilitation, sub-acute ambulatory care services (community and home based rehabilitation) and HACC (Rural Allied Health Team). This is expected to expand into the future.

The successful applicant will have a clinical caseload in a negotiated area, and responsibility for the provision of professional leadership and performance of the OT department. This will require significant and demonstrable relevant experience and professional development in leading and managing.

The position requires strong administrative and supervisory skills, excellent written and verbal communication, and an understanding or organisational needs. Human resource management skills will be highly valued.

An understanding and commitment to quality and innovation are expected. The position forms part of the Allied Health Management Team on the Wodonga site, and works closely with other discipline seniors, program coordinators and the Director of Allied Health to deliver a range of high quality contemporary health services to local communities.
