ACCOUNTANTS / BUSINESS MANAGEMENT PROFESSIONALS
An exciting opportunity has arisen for two accounting professionals to join our dynamic and flexible team of Finance staff.
Wodonga Regional Health Service will be transitioning to Albury Wodonga Health from 1st July 2009. This new Health Service, with a budget of $140m, will be responsible for the delivery of acute health services to the Albury Wodonga community.
The current opportunities have arisen in the creation of a single Finance Department for the new health service. This will be an exciting and challenging period for the health service and will suit enthusiastic candidates looking to broaden their range of experiences.
We are looking to employ two Accountants to assist us in the following roles:
Financial Accountant – Systems (Full time)
Responsibilities will include:
- Ongoing management of a customised financial reporting product and existing in-house financial systems;
- Preparation of reports and information for internal and external stakeholders;
- Liaison with and day to day management of external service providers;
- Development and implementation of procedures; and
- Assist with the proposed implementation of Oracle financials.
Management Accountant (Full time)
Responsibilities will include:
- Detailed analysis of the health service's financial performance to a cost centre level (financial, activity, staffing);
- Preparation and ongoing monitoring of annual budgets;
- Liaison with Divisional and cost centre managers in the achievement of their cost centre budgets and their ongoing financial education; and
- Develop and implement process and reporting improvements.
Candidates for these positions will need to possess the following:
- Tertiary qualifications in Business / Commerce;
- At least 5 years previous accounting experience;
- Post graduate accounting qualifications (CA / CPA) preferred;
- Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written);
- Well developed computing skills; and
- Previous health industry experience would be highly regarded.

Salary and conditions of employment are as per The Hospital Administrative Officers' Award and are dependant on qualifications and experience.
