Post Graduate Diploma in Midwifery

Commencing 6 February 2011

Albury Wodonga Health (AWH) Wodonga Hospital (WH) has positions available for Registered Nurses interested in completing their Graduate Diploma in Midwifery.

  • 12 month program, two intakes annually of up to 6 students each.
  • Provided externally through Charles Sturt University (CSU), Wagga Campus. CSU offer Commonwealth Supported Places. 
  • Students are employed part time (four days per week) whilst studying.
  • Wodonga Hospital offers 2 scholarships annually to the value of $2500 each. 
  • Post Graduate Study Leave to attend mandatory residential school.
  • Dedicated Midwifery Student Midwife Educator and Clinical Support nurse.
  •  Eight weeks paid supernumerary time to enable the student to fulfil the clinical requirements.
  • Salary and conditions in accordance with the Nurses (Victorian Public Health Sector) Multiple Business agreement 2007-2011.

Requirements for applicants:

  • Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, Registered Nurse Division 1.
  • Completion of graduate year is a minimum requirement. 
  • Cover letter.
  • Current CV which includes 3 current acute nursing referees.
  • Wodonga Hospital Application for Employment Form available from the previous page (www.awh.org.au/employment)
  • Current and valid Victorian national Police Check and a Victorian Working With Children Card (Employment).
  • Successful applicants are required to pass all elements of the course in order to remain within the program.
  • Applicants need to be available for interview in late September 2010.
