Coding and Data Quality Coordinator

 

Albury Wodonga Health

 

Albury Wodonga Health is seeking an experienced Health Information Manager keen to apply their coding and casemix expertise within the evolving environment of electronic health records in a unique cross border health setting.

 

As part of moving towards Vic DoH reporting and National casemix requirements, we have identified a need for a Coding and Data Quality Coordinator to be responsible for:

 

·         Auditing and analysis of medical records to ensure relevant clinical documentation, accuracy of coding and to recognise appropriate funding

·         Develop and manage a comprehensive coding and auditing education program for the clinical coding team

·         Initiation and management of quality initiatives relating to the clinical coding service

·         Monitoring of and participation in achieving internal and external coding deadlines

·         Enhancement of data quality through audit and education

·         Develop strategies to ensure AWH can report effectively under the National Health Reform agenda Activity Based Funding initiatives for acute, emergency, subacute and ambulatory patient activity.

·         Provide education around issues such as Victorian Department of Health Policy and data requirements to ensure compliance and consistency in application.

·         Management of workflow, monitoring of deadlines and KPI reporting

·         Strengthen relationships between clinicians and HIS including involvement in a casemix and clinical documentation education program

We have a friendly and supportive team of 10 HIMs/Clinical Coders and are about to embark on an exciting Electronic Health Information project that will bring our two campus patient record systems together and provide opportunities for flexibility in working from home for the coding team.
