Speech Pathology for Children
We provide speech pathology services for children from birth to school age. Our services are for children with communication and/or swallowing difficulties.
Difficulties may be in a range of areas including:
- Producing speech sounds (A child's speech may be difficult to understand)
- Following directions (A child may find it difficult to understand longer sentences)
- Making sentences (A child may not be using many words)
- Stuttering (A child may be repeating words or parts of sentences)
- Voice quality (A child may have a gruff harsh voice)
- Feeding or swallowing (A child may find it difficult to move onto lumpy solids)
Medical referral is not required for an initial assessment.
Priorities: Feeding and swallowing difficulties.
Priority is given to Health Care Card holders / pensioners who are residents of the City of Wodonga, Indigo and Towong shires and the Kiewa Valley of Alpine Shire.
Fees: As per state-wide fees policy for Community Health services, targeting low income earners. ($8.00 base rate)
Adult
We provide speech pathology services for adults with communication and/or swallowing difficulties.
Difficulties may be in a range of areas including:
- Speech (An adult may have slurred speech)
- Spoken language (An adult may have difficulty finding words)
- Understanding language (An adult may find it difficult to follow conversations)
- Stuttering (An adult may be repeating words or parts of sentences)
- Voice quality (An adult may have a weak or harsh voice)
- Swallowing (An adult may find it difficult to drink fluids without coughing)
Priorities: Swallowing
Priority is given to Health Care Card holders / pensioners who are residents of the City of Wodonga, Indigo and Towong Shires and the Kiewa Valley of Alpine Shire.
